A look back at Summer in Europe 2009
AFAF's Summer Music Courses in Europe 2009 took place between August 4 and August 14, 2009. The first portion of the program took place in Weimar - one of Europe’s great cultural cities, and was hosted by Weimar’s famous Liszt School of Music. With Weimar as our home base, we were able to explore surrounding cities and learn more about the composers that called these cities home, including Halle (Handel), Zwickau (Schumann) and Leipzig (Mendelssohn, Bach).
The second part of Summer '09 began on August 11, 2009, which is when we said goodbye to Weimar, and travelled to Nuremberg, Munich and Salzburg, where we were explored the rich musical history of Germany, before making our way to our final destination - Vienna, Europe’s music capital.
