Announcing the AFAF 2010-2011 Season

The Festival Committee would like to welcome everyone to the 20010-2011 Season of the American Fine Arts Festival (AFAF). We're happy to once again be able to provide talented young people in the United States and Canada and across the globe the opportunity to further their musical education and the chance to perform at some of the best concert halls in the country.

Our Regular Season Program

The regular program of our eighth season begins with a round of in-person auditions which are taking place in February and March, 2011 in Massachusetts, Washington, DC, New York, New Jersey, California and Connecticut. Students who are not able to audition in person can submit a hi-fi VHS videocassette or DVD recording of their audition by mail. While this year's performance venues once again include Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Yamaha Piano Salon and the Dicapo Opera Theatre Concert Hall, we are hoping to add other exciting venues in New York City to this year's lineup. Winners' Concerts will take place in May-June 2011.

2010-2011: Special Events

Two Gala Concerts, one on October 23, 2010, the other on February 19, 2011, will take place at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City with both recitals requiring video/mail auditions. We are also joining the world-wide musical community in celebrating the bicentennial of Frederic Chopin's birth with a special concert that will take place on November 13, 2010, also at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In addition to our international vocal competition, Golden Voices of America, we are also announcing the establishment of a parallel competition for string players, the AFAF Golden Strings of America. Finally, we're proud to announce the AFAF Piano, Strings & Winds International Concerto Competition 2011. Winners of this prestigious competition will perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City and have the opportunity to travel to Russia during the summer of 2011 to perform with the renowned Kostroma Symphony Orchestra.
