Vladimir Agilin: Biography
Russian born violinist Vladimir Agilin founded the American Fine Arts Festival in 2003 in order to foster the art of music performance and the study of classical music. Mr. Agilin received his early musical education at the Moscow Central Special Music School, and later studied at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow, under M. Pitkus, U. Yanklevich, and M. Gleizarova.
After receiving his Masters in Performance, Mr. Agilin joined the Russian State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Eugene Svetlanov. As a member of the renowned orchestra Mr. Agilin traveled extensively, performing in many of Europe’s major concert halls and throughout the former USSR. In 1993, Mr. Agilin became a member of Vladimir Spivakov’s “Moscow Virtuosi” Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to his career as a performer in Russia, Mr. Agilin has been a dedicated educator, teaching at the Moscow Music Vocational School under Tchaikovsky Conservatory and conducting numerous violin courses and masterclasses in Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Australia. Mr. Agilin’s students have won numerous competitions and many have been accepted to prestigious conservatories.
In addition to his duties as AFAF Music Director, Mr. Agilin teaches at Westminster Conservatory of Rider University, Princeton, New Jersey.
